New GM for Ramada Resort by Wyndham Shoal Bay
Wyndham Destinations Asia Pacific has appointed Lani Fahey to the position of general manager at Ramada Resort by Wyndham Shoal Bay, Port Stephens.
Fahey will oversee daily operations at the 201-room beachfront resort, which accommodates permanent residents, resort guests and vacation club members of Club Wyndham South Pacific, Australia’s largest timeshare club.
Fahey has more than 14 years of experience in hospitality and has served in a managerial capacity with Meriton for half that time, including a period where she opened and managed the Meriton Suites in Southport on the Gold Coast.
Warren Cullum, Wyndham Destinations Asia Pacific vice president of Hotel and Resort Operations – South Pacific, said Fahey was the perfect candidate to take on the role.
“Lani has a depth of experience managing high-performing teams and a legacy of improving both the performance and skills of her people,” he explained.
“Importantly, she has a demonstrated record of enhancing communication between staff and customers and using feedback to better deliver personalised and memorable experiences for guests.
“Lani is also a knowledgeable local who is enthusiastic about working in hospitality in the region and is passionate about ensuring visitors to the region enjoy their experience.”
Fahey started her hospitality career as a front office receptionist at Quest in Newcastle, before joining Meriton as a Guest Service Agent on the Gold Coast and working her way up to become a hotel manager with the company.
