Golfers raise over £45,000 for Christel House
This year’s RCI Christel House Europe Open was another successful day for the international fundraising tournament, with more than £45,000 being raised or pledged for the children’s charity.
The 2018 tournament again took place at Badgemore Park Golf Club in Henley-on-Thames, with 14 teams taking part, a total of 52 players. Many more people attended during the course of the day and for the dinner and evening events, with more than 70 people taking part in total.
The 2018 tournament was won by the Azure All Stars, with a tie for second place, but after a count back Nexus Leisure Team 2 were named runners-up with Whitefields Estate, who were taking part for the first time, coming third.

Players, supporters, sponsors and guests enjoyed glorious weather throughout the day and for the evening barbecue, where additional fundraising activities included a raffle and auction, conducted by Robin Mills, RCI’s recently-appointed vice president, Business Development, for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
Among the prizes on offer were tea in the House of Lords for four people with a tour of the Houses of Parliament, Dartington crystal, and paintings by students from Christel House schools in India.
Th golf tournament is one of a number taking place across the globe to raise awareness and funds for Christel House International, a charity set up by RCI’s original co-founder Christel DeHaan that is dedicated to improving the lives of impoverished children all over the world.
